Telangana's revised voter list is now due on 30 November: what Hyderabad voters should check before 26 November

Last checked: 2 Nov 2026, 10:15 AM IST

Next update: when the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Telangana publishes new figures, and on 30 Nov when the final roll is out.

In short

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has moved the publication of Telangana's final electoral roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) from 9 November to 30 November 2026. The phase for serving notices and deciding claims and objections now runs to 26 November (it was 5 November) (The Hindu, 29 Oct 2026; Telangana Today, 30 Oct 2026). The Hindu reports the claims window has been reopened in Telangana (The Hindu, 30 Oct 2026). If you got a notice, go to your hearing. If your name was missing from the draft roll, ask your booth-level officer (BLO) or electoral registration officer (ERO) now about filing Form 6. Hyderabad district had the most names left out of the draft roll in the state: 19.41 lakh (Siasat, 17 Aug 2026).

The qualifying date for this revision is 1 January 2026: you must have been 18 on that date (Times of India, 30 Oct 2026).

What we couldn't confirm: ECI's letters set a separate filing deadline for Delhi and Maharashtra, but the reports give only the 26 Nov notice-and-disposal date for Telangana (The Hindu, 30 Oct 2026; Indian Express, 30 Oct 2026). Ask your BLO or ERO how long new Form 6 claims will be accepted for inclusion in the 30 Nov roll. Don't wait until 26 Nov.

Source: Siasat, 17 Aug 2026. Percentages calculated by us from Siasat's figures; Times of India, 18 Aug 2026 gives matching shares for Medchal-Malkajgiri (35.9%) and Rangareddy (34.79%). In Hyderabad district, most of the left-out names were marked permanently shifted (13,45,333). The rest were untraceable (2,99,850), dead (1,56,392), already enrolled elsewhere (99,264) or other (40,605) (Siasat). Malakpet had the most names left out of any Hyderabad constituency (1,47,779), followed by Musheerabad (1,40,070) (Siasat). Musheerabad had the highest share in the state (45.1%), followed by Malakpet (44.7%) (TOI).

These are draft-stage figures. They change as claims are decided. The final count will only be known on 30 Nov.

What to do now

1. Check whether your name is in the draft roll. Search by your details or your voter ID (EPIC) number on ECI's electoral search, electoralsearch.eci.gov.in, or on the voters' services portal voters.eci.gov.in. The booth-wise lists of names left out (ASDD) were put up at ERO and assistant ERO offices and municipal notice boards, and on the CEO's and district election officers' websites (Indian Express, 17 Aug 2026).

2. Got a notice? Go to the hearing. About 93 lakh voters got notices because their details didn't match or couldn't be linked to the 2002 roll. The CEO said no name in the draft roll can be deleted just because of a mismatch: the ERO must issue a notice, hold an enquiry and give you a fair chance to respond (TOI, 18 Aug 2026). Take the documents the notice asks for. If you can't make the date, ask the ERO's office to reschedule; over 78,000 first hearings had lapsed by 29 Oct (Telangana Today).

3. Name missing? Ask about Form 6. People left out at the enumeration stage were told they could get back on the roll with Form 6 plus the prescribed declaration form (TOI, 18 Aug 2026). You can submit it to your BLO, ERO or assistant ERO, or online through the ECI voters' services portal or the ECINET app (Deccan Chronicle, 21 Aug 2026).

4. Use the right form.

FormUse it to
Form 6Enrol as a new voter, or get back on the roll
Form 6AEnrol as an overseas Indian voter
Form 7Object to a name, or ask for a deletion (for example, a family member who has died)
Form 8Shift your address, correct details, replace your voter ID card, or mark a person with a disability

5. If your claim is rejected. Under the Representation of the People Act, 1950 (Section 24) and the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960 (Rule 27), a first appeal goes to the district magistrate or district election officer within 15 days of the ERO's order, and a second appeal to the CEO within 30 days of that order. Officers can excuse a delay for good reason. The same explainer notes that the Rules can bar an appeal in some cases, so attend any hearing you're called to (Sylph Corps Media, 25 Oct 2026, a secondary explainer citing the Rules). Keep a copy of every order you receive.

Why this matters for Hyderabad

Elections to Hyderabad's three municipal corporations (GHMC, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri) have not been scheduled as of 2 Nov 2026. See Which municipal corporation is my area in?. We don't speculate here on how the revised roll will be used for those polls.
