Terms of Use

By using Soshyal, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please do not use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old. Public rooms and discovery features are limited to adults.

What Soshyal is

Soshyal is an online chat product for short-lived group rooms and messages around shared intents, similar in spirit to group chats on other social apps. Any decision to meet someone in person is yours alone. The app does not arrange, supervise, or guarantee offline meetings.

Assumption of risk (offline meetings)

If you choose to meet another user offline, you do so entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety: meet in public places, tell someone you trust, and leave if you feel unsafe. Soshyal, its operators, and affiliates are not liable for conduct of users online or offline, including harm arising from meetings you arrange yourself.

Acceptable use

• No spam, scams, harassment, hate, or illegal content
• No impersonation or stolen photos
• No sharing phone numbers or abuse in public rooms
• No scraping or abusing APIs

User-generated content (UGC)

You own what you post. You grant us a license to host and display it so the product works. We may remove content that violates these terms.

Moderation

Use in-app Report and Block. We review reports and may hide, restrict, shadowban, or ban accounts. Automated filters may remove phone-number spam and abusive text in public rooms. New accounts have lower daily limits for joining rooms and starting DMs.

Data retention

Account and message data are retained as needed to operate the service, comply with law, and handle abuse. Ephemeral rooms and disappearing messages may be purged on a schedule. Moderation and report audit logs are retained longer when needed for safety investigations. See Privacy for details.

Law-enforcement requests

Valid legal process should be sent as described on our law-enforcement page. We review requests for legal validity and scope before disclosing data.

Liability

Soshyal is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for user interactions inside or outside the app.
