Your building WhatsApp group and the Soshyal city room: use both

In short. Most buildings already have a group chat, and it works well for the people next door: the lift, the tank, the watchman, the society meeting.

A painted apartment courtyard at dusk with neighbours seen from behind, one holding a phone with a blank screen, above two cards comparing your building group with the Hyderabad Water Watch room, three steps to open, sign in and share the room link, and a note on the official Soshyal team accounts.

Most buildings already have a group chat, and it works well for the people next door: the lift, the tank, the watchman, the society meeting. Keep it.

Add the city room for two things your building can't see on its own. First, checked facts: the facts on Soshyal's El Niño posters are checked by the Soshyal team, and every poster carries its source and date. Second, neighbours beyond your building: people across the city asking about water, heat and help in their own areas.

For Hyderabad, the room is Hyderabad Water Watch (soshyal.com/r/7aftflsax9). It is one of five official Soshyal El Niño rooms, which are always open and close only when the Soshyal team chooses.

How to add it. 1. Open the link. Anyone can preview the room without signing in. 2. Sign in with an email code to join and talk. 3. Tap the room's Share button and post the link in your building group. The link works on WhatsApp.

Who runs it. The official rooms are co-hosted by @soshyal.care and @soshyal.team. These are official team accounts with a "Soshyal team" label, not individual people.

Then use both: your building group for the people you know, and the city room to learn, share, help, and reuse the same checked facts in the next heatwave or flood.

Join the El Niño help room on soshyal.com to ask questions and share what you see in your area.
