India's tour of New Zealand 2026: every match with its India time

Last checked: 22 Oct 2026. Next update: after each match, and when BCCI confirms any squad change.

India play 12 international matches in New Zealand between 22 October and 1 December 2026: five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests. In India, the T20Is start at 12:30 PM IST, the ODIs at 7:30 AM IST, and the Tests at 3:30 AM IST. That means lunch-break cricket for the T20Is and early-morning alarms for the rest. (BCCI, 6 Oct 2026; BCCI, 16 Oct 2026; BBC Sport, updated 19 Oct 2026)

Why the times look odd

New Zealand is ahead of India. For example, the first T20I in Christchurch starts at 8:00 PM local time, which is 12:30 PM in India (ESPN, match page, accessed 22 Oct 2026; India Today, 22 Oct 2026). So a New Zealand night game becomes an Indian afternoon game, and New Zealand day games become early-morning games in India.

The Hyderabad connection

Two Hyderabad players are on this tour. Tilak Varma, born in Hyderabad in 2002, is vice-captain of the T20I side and is in the squad for the last two ODIs (The Hindu, 30 Sep 2025; BCCI; BCCI). Mohammed Siraj, from Secunderabad, is in both ODI squads and the Test squad (Wikipedia, accessed 22 Oct 2026; BCCI, 16 Oct 2026).

Where to watch in India

India Today reports that Sony Sports Network will show the 1st T20I on TV, with live streaming on SonyLIV (India Today, 22 Oct 2026). Broadcasters can change, so check the listing on match day.

A few tips for following an early-morning series

  • Set alarms for 7:30 AM (ODIs) and 3:30 AM (Tests), not the local start time you may see on international sites.
  • The Test dates are the IST dates. The BBC shows the first Test as starting 18 Nov in GMT, but in India it starts in the early hours of Thursday 19 Nov (BBC Sport; BCCI).
  • Check for squad changes. BCCI marked some selections as "subject to fitness clearance," so the XI can change before each series.
